Originally this meeting was also meant to be a physical meeting in Italy but due to covid we first postponed it and then changed it to a virtual meeting on November 22-26th, 2021.
A report from the meeting.
The activities we took part in this week were planned with the Five Factor Model in mind:
– Openness to the experience: Our students attended the lessons with openness and embraced the different tasks trying to do their best and use their creativity in the best way.
– Conscientiousness: We had prepared a task from the lesson on Civic Values from our last mobility. This task was to present important persons from each country and explain why they are of importance. We also took part in a workshop called Voyage at the discovery of the great international organizations: UNICEF, UNHCR, ONU, Amnesty International, and Greenpeace. During this meeting, it was the International day for the elimination of violence against women. We learned more about the subject and presented to each other what the situation is like in our home countries.
– Extraversion: The original plan for exploring diversity was through sports activities since team play improves tolerance by being part of a team and working together. Instead, we created our virtual teams with participants from each country. In this team, they had different tasks to solve and by communicating they also got to know each other better.
– Pleasantness: We created different shorter films as a forum theater. We made the script, filmed it, and at the end of the week, we had a virtual movie viewing to see the creations from each country. We also used our creativity by making flashcards with messages about tolerance and kindness.
– Neuroticism: During the forum theater task the students got to explore the darker parts with the opposite of tolerance. This led to many good discussions on the importance of tolerance, and mutual understanding, but also on the importance of being active citizens.
We started by presenting ourselves in a padlet and then used flipgrid to make video presentations like this one from Portugal.
