A report of the meeting.

The activities we took part in this week were planned with the Five Factor Model in mind:

Openness to the experience: Students got to use their creativity in different ways. They dove right into the task no matter if it was something new to them or things they had tried before. Great work!

Conscientiousness: We created an exhibition to be a reminder of the different activities done with this project. I this task, as well as all other tasks they planned their work, and executed it very well.

Extraversion: The students worked with several team-building activities, one of them included a City Race in mixed teams and it took place in the city center.

Pleasantness: Symbols and words associated with BE TOLERANT were used when the students got to create their own print on a canvas bag. This turned into a permanent flashcard to be brought home and spread the message of BE TOLERANT, while it is being used in everyday life.

Neuroticism: Biking is normal for Swedes. Örebro is a good city for biking so we used it for several activities during this meeting. Not everyone was used to biking on a regular basis but they challenged themselves to do it and were happy to gain confidence. Another experience that was new to many was the graffiti task. They worked in groups and made tolerance words into big art pieces on a public graffiti wall. Everyone took part and the result was a beautiful display for our Festival of tolerance and mutual understanding! At the outdoor activity, we played different games which also let us deal with different feelings when losing at games.

Work in mixed groups:

Photo-hunt in Örebro City – the instructions.

The result of the photo hunt in a pdf file.

We prepared an exhibition to summarize our project.

Celebrating our Festival of tolerance by creating street art with words about TOLERANCE:

We visited different parts of the city: The castle, The old town Wadköping and the water tower The Mushroom:

We took a trip to the park Hästhagen for some outdoor activities like paddling canoe, playing games like Kubb and Mölkky or maybe try Volleyball or Discgolf!

To again use our creativity we made our own prints on canvas bags that each participant got to bring home, this way spreading our message of BE TOLERANT:

Before flying home we spent the day in the capital: Stockholm:
